How to Create a Race in the Back Office

Updated over a month ago

This guide explains how to create and configure a Race from the Back Office. Races are competitive events where users participate, place wagers, and compete for rewards based on ranking.

All times are handled in UTC.

Step 1: Basic Information

Start by filling in the Basic Information section.

Race Title

Enter a clear and descriptive name for the race.

Slug

The slug is used in the race URL. It must be unique for every race. Only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens are recommended. (Example below)

Category and Category Name

These fields define how the race is grouped internally and displayed. This is what users will see on the site.

Image URL and Icon URL

Upload or select:

  • An image for the race banner

  • An icon for listings or navigation

These visuals help users identify the race easily.

Start & End Date and Time

Set when the race begins and ends. Time is always in UTC.

Step 2: Content

Race Description

This is the main content of the race. Use this area to explain:

  • What the race is about

  • How users participate

  • How winners are determined

  • Any other relevant details

This content is visible to users and should be clear and informative.

Scheduled Message (Optional)

If the race is not active yet and you still want it to appear on the site, you can add a scheduled message. When a scheduled message is set:

  • The race will appear as scheduled

  • Users will see the message until the race becomes active

If no scheduled message is added, only active races will appear on the site.

Step 3: Section Content (Rules)

Use the Section Content area to define race rules.

Section Title

Example: Rules

Section Content

Add detailed rules such as:

  • Eligibility requirements

  • How points are earned

  • Ranking logic

  • Any exclusions or limitations

Important clarification about games

You cannot manually list specific games for wagering in race rules. Qualified games are determined automatically based on RTP levels.

You can:

  • Set a maximum RTP value

  • Only games within that RTP range will qualify for the race

This ensures consistency and prevents manual game mismatches.

Token

Select the token that will be used for wagering and rewards.

Race Type

Choose the race type.

Minimum Bet Size

Define the minimum wager required for activity to count toward the race.

Maximum Return to Player (RTP)

Set the maximum RTP percentage for qualifying games. Only games within this RTP threshold will count toward the race.

Prize Pool

Enter the total prize pool amount.

Step 5: Prize Distribution

Define how the prize pool is distributed among winners.

For each position:

  • Set the Rank (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.)

  • Set the Percentage of the prize pool

The total percentage across all positions should equal 100 percent. You can add or remove positions as needed.

Final Notes

  • Only active races appear on the site by default

  • Use Scheduled Message if you want upcoming races to be visible

  • Always ensure the slug is unique

  • All dates and times are handled in UTC

  • Game eligibility is inferred from RTP settings, not manual game lists

Once all fields are completed, save the race to make it live or scheduled.

If you need further adjustments, races can be edited before or during their active period depending on platform rules.
